At International Law Partners, we recognize that no two claims are alike. From straightforward auto and premises liability matters to complex, high-exposure litigation involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death, our attorneys bring the experience, resources, and strategic judgment necessary to protect our clients' interests. We represent insurers, self-insured businesses, corporations, non-profits and other institutional clients across a broad spectrum of civil litigation, tailoring our defense strategy to the unique circumstances, potential exposure, and business considerations of each case.
Our approach begins with a thorough evaluation of liability, causation, damages, and available defenses. We understand that effective insurance defense requires more than simply responding to allegations with templates; it demands proactive case management, early identification of critical evidence, thoughtful discovery, and a realistic assessment of risk. Whether a matter calls for an efficient early resolution or an aggressive defense through trial, our attorneys develop strategies designed to control litigation costs, minimize exposure, and achieve results consistent with our clients' objectives.
For catastrophic and high-stakes claims, where potential verdicts may reach millions of dollars and reputational consequences can extend well beyond the courtroom, we understand the importance of meticulous preparation and sound litigation judgment. Our team works closely with claims professionals, risk managers, corporate representatives, and qualified experts to address complex factual, medical, and legal issues. We combine the attention and responsiveness of a boutique litigation firm with the sophistication and capabilities required to defend substantial claims, always remaining focused on protecting our clients' financial interests, reputations, and long-term business relationships.

RESULTS AND EXPERIENCE
01
Negligent Security
ILP attorneys were counsel for a security company in a lawsuit that was filed against an apartment complex and the security company as a result of the rape of a woman at the apartment complex. The security company’s employees were charged with conducting regular “deggy station” checks, which they did not do. They were also required to complete incident reports for any incidents that occurred at the property, which they did not do. Several attempts for settlement were made before trial, but none were successful because Plaintiff demanded policy limits ($1 million) from the security company. The parties proceeded to trial. After jury selection and opening statements, the Plaintiff settled the case against the insurance company for $150,000.
02
Auto Accident
A Fortune 100 Company’s employee, while driving a company van, struck someone on a dirt bike. The Plaintiff was in a coma for 6 months and suffered an organic brain injury. Plaintiff demanded $20 million. Through an accident reconstruction expert, Yasir Billoo and his team were able to show Plaintiff was going the wrong way when struck. This became the linchpin of a motion for summary judgment, which the trial court granted in favor of the defendant. Plaintiff filed an appeal, which our managing partner, Yasir Billoo, personally briefed and argued in Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal. The appeals court affirmed the trial court’s decision and upheld the ruling.
03
Trucking Accident
A large beverage company’s truck struck the back of another truck that was carrying lumber. The beverage company’s truck burst into flames, the front cab completely burned and the driver was burned alive. Yasir Billoo was the first one on behalf of the company to be at the scene of the accident, spoke with FHP, spoke with the driver of the lumber truck, and investigated the crime. Upon his investigation, Mr. Billoo suggested there was no way for the accident to have occurred the way the lumber truck’s driver said it occurred. Based on that suggestion, the beverage company retained an accident reconstruction expert, obtained the electronic control module (ECM) data from both trucks, and completed an investigation. Based on the formal investigation, it was determined that the lumber truck, which was struck, was actually the cause of the accident. Accordingly, no claim was made against the beverage company and negligent homicide charges were filed against the lumber truck driver by FHP.
04
Long Term Care
The attorneys at ILP have dealt with all manner of long term care cases from relatively simple bed sore and fall cases to more complex cases involving injuries to residents who have walked out of the facility due to dementia. One case he litigated involved a woman with Alzheimer’s being sexually assaulted by a man who walked into the facility for that purpose. We argued before the Court on summary judgment that Plaintiff, the woman’s daughter, is unable to show liability or damages because this had never occurred previously in any nursing home in the State and because the woman, who had severe dementia, could not remember any part of the incident. The Motion was so strong that Plaintiff’s previous demand for $2 million was reduced to $200,000 and the parties resolved the matter.
05
Premises Liability
We have represented countless property owners in premises liability matters ranging from slip and fall cases, trip and fall cases, inclusive of negligent flooring claims. One such case involved an alleged slip and fall case at a buffet restaurant. The restaurant was already closed, so the challenge was providing a defense to a client who was no longer at the business. Nevertheless, we retained a flooring expert due to some inconsistencies found in the way Plaintiff claimed to have fallen. A flooring expert showed that the flooring was slip resistant flooring so the way Plaintiff claimed to have fallen could not have occurred. The case was resolved at mediation early in the case for under $50,000, despite Plaintiff having gone through multiple procedures on her back.
